First thing Saturday morning, we all met at the nearest pumpkin patch. It was only a little over an hour away. The hay ride took us out to the Just a woman who loves Rick and Morty and Halloween shirt and then it was a race to find the best pumpkin. When it comes to proper pumpkin carving, it is not all about the largest. That does play a factor. But you also have to consider symmetry, smoothness, stem length, and about a dozen other factors. Now, those don’t have a hard and fast rule of best because even the most lopsided, bubbled pumpkin can be the best depending on what you are going for. After our pumpkins were picked, we went back to the main store front for a round of warm ciders and early stage trash talk. It always started with compliments to the other’s choices, but that quickly dissolved into nitpicking each and every little flaw. Part of it was good fun, but there is also a slim layer of psychological warfare to pumpkin carving.

I have also always loved the Halloween Just a woman who loves Rick and Morty and Halloween shirt and as a big fan of the place I would love to go to where it was filmed: St. Helens, in Oregon. They host an annual giant pumpkin lighting (just like in the movie) and it is said that visitors can get in on the local fun by attending all of the various “Spirit of Halloweentown” Festival events. So if the opportunity ever came up for me to attend both, I most certainly would! One year at each so I can fully appreciate the efforts made by each respective place and allow my inner child to run free!
The alternative “Happy Christmas” gained usage in the late 19th century, and is still common Just a woman who loves Rick and Morty and Halloween shirt in the UK and Ireland alongside “Merry Christmas”. One reason may be the Methodist Victorian middle-class influence in attempting to separate wholesome celebration of the Christmas season from common lower-class public insobriety and associated asocial behaviour, at a time when merry also meant “tipsy” or “drunk”. Queen Elizabeth II is said to prefer “Happy Christmas” for this reason. In the American poet Clement Moore’s “A Visit from St. Nicholas” (1823), the final line, originally written as “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night”, has been changed in many later editions to “Merry Christmas to all”, perhaps indicating the relative popularity of the phrases in the USA.
