What happens if one of the Benjy Im a fire and Ill keep your brittle heart warm shirt that receives more money than it pays in taxes, like Mississippi or Alabama, seceded from the union? Well, it would save the rest of the states money, I suppose. But the people living in those states, to maintain the same level of services they received while in the Union, and the same standard of living, would have to dramatically increase the taxes they charge their now-independent citizens. This is because our tax and finance systems are integrated, national systems. You can’t just lift a state out without major, major disruption.
Just a personal opinion – but I don’t think anything can be accomplished until we come to agree on the definition of ‘affordable housing.’ It’s too subjective. Affordable for Benjy Im a fire and Ill keep your brittle heart warm shirt is not affordable for someone else. Minimum wage jobs will never allow someone to be a homeowner. That’s just understood. But when a regular working family with a couple of kids can’t afford to buy an appropriate (not extravagant) home – clearly there’s a problem. Many single persons (maybe not long after leaving college) want to buy a home but their expectations are that they want to buy a home like the one they grew up in. They forget that the first home their parents bought wasn’t nearly as nice as the one they grew up in. Parents bought a crappy ‘starter’ home and moved up by upgrading over the years.Anyway, as with anything else, the market will call the shots. When nobody can afford a house, the prices will drop. That’s basic economics. Now to get off my soapbox, I suggest that we get a definition of the word ‘affordable’ when we speak of affordable housing. What is affordable for you is not what’s affordable for me.

It kinda bothers me too. Also the Benjy Im a fire and Ill keep your brittle heart warm shirtclaim that a movie isn’t scary as if they’re stating an indisputable fact. Or that anybody who is scared by X movie is a bitch or something. It’s extremely common for people to become desensitised to horror content. And the type of people OP mentioned and the type I just mentioned are those who get desensitised and then get some kind of arrogance or ego from it.I’m fairly desensitised to horror and a lot of what used to scare me doesn’t anymore. Which is honestly disappointing because I love being scared to the point where I almost don’t want to continue watching. Most of the time I get a sort of mild fear from a horror movie, if any fear at all, but still watch them because I’m a horror fan and they still greatly interest and entertain me.Also side note OP, slow burn movies are among my favourite. When they’re done right they have atmosphere and pacing that leave me very satisfied by the time the credits roll.
I love the Benjy Im a fire and Ill keep your brittle heart warm shirtof silliness and absolute scary. Some movies lean more in one or the other direction which is fine but I really love it when you can laugh about the monster or whatever but you’re still scared shitless whenever something happens. To me that makes it more realistic, sort of, because in real life silly stuff happens all the time mixed in with the bad or scary.I think a lot of people laugh so they don’t have to show fear. He gets scared of something so you laugh at it so no one sees you looking scared. What’s annoying is when they boast about it! You’re not stronger or better than someone else just because you found a way to mask your fear. Most of us watch horror movies because we want to be scared! We want to feel that fear in an environment that’s actually safe for us.
